Tuition and Fees

The cost to attend the 2009 JEMS Summer Transportation Institute is just $750. This all-inclusive fee will allow you to experience a sneak peak of your first year of college through:

  • Twelve nights of on-campus housing in a first-year student living community.
  • Two weeks of all-you can eat meals at the "Bob's Place" in the Wallace Residence Center (that's 34 breakfasts, lunches, and dinners!).
  • Two weeks of classes with engineering faculty and limited access to several of the state-of-the-art labs and high-tech facilities to further your understanding of many engineering principles.
  • Two college credits to get your first semester of school off to a strong start! (This alone is a $450 value!).
  • All the supplies and tools you need to create a miniature vehicle to enter in the Alternative Energies competition.
  • Field trips to visit local engineering companies and exposure to real engineering solutions to local transportation issues.

We know times are tough, but we don't want the cost to discourage you from taking advantage of this amazing opportunity to explore your future as an engineer. Thanks to the generous support of the Federal Highway Administration, up to 20 JEMS students will receive financial assistance to attend this summer's program. Just be sure to complete Part 3 of this year's application to be considered for this funding.
