WHO can come to JEMS?Idaho JEMS is open to students who have completed their junior year in high school and are at least 15 years of age. Students must have least a 3.0 grade point average and have completed three years of high school mathematics and science. WHAT will I be doing at JEMS?JEMS gives you the opportunity to experience life as a college student for two weeks through coursework, teamwork, and living in campus housing with current engineering student mentors. Your days will be filled with lectures, labs, computer exercises, and guest speakers, but it's not all serious business! You can also look forward to barbeques, pizza parties, field trips, and access to several University of Idaho recreational facilities. HOW much will it cost?For $650 you will enjoy TWO weeks of engineering fun including on-campus housing, meals, activities, and two college credits. Scholarship money is available, including funds to encourage female and minority students to apply. WHEN does JEMS take place?After you've enjoyed the fireworks celebrating our nation's birthday, the real blast can begin! JEMS 2008 will take place July 13-25, 2008. WHERE do I get to go for JEMS?The University of Idaho in Moscow is the home of Idaho's most comprehensive engineering program. Moscow is a culturally-rich college town in the middle of a booming region. Our summers offer warm temperatures and rivers perfect for fishing or water sports. Our natural surroundings provide a global hub for environmental and agricultural research. Our residential campus provides more than 25 student residence communities: four apartment communities, 18 fraternities and nine sororities that provide you with all the living options you'd expect from a leading university.
