Students and teachers have the exciting opportunity to attend two hands-on workshops during Engineering Design EXPO. Topics are specially designed to let you explore more innovations in the four theme areas of the Engineering Design EXPO: Transportation and Technology, Energy and Electronics, Space Exploration and Beyond, and Land and Water Resources.

Transportation and Technology
From Field to Fuel - Growing your own Biodiesel!
Learn the ins and outs of biodiesel production and how it is changing the face of farm, ranch, and industry fuel supplies.

Energy and Electronics
Can you Hack it? - Security you can count on
It's happened to everyone, the ominous pop-up message alerting us to the presence of a malicious virus on our computer. Learn what is being done to keep our computers, technology and world a safer place to innovate.

Space Exploration and Beyond
Traveling through earth's atmosphere is not a pleasant journey. Our modern spacecraft have been designed specifically to withstand high speeds and the harsh vacuum of space. Without a thorough understanding of aerodynamics, scientists and engineers would not be able to create the innovative vehicles used to explore outer space today.
This workshop will introduce students to the world of aerodynamics by summarizing basic concepts and then challenging student teams to apply their newly formed understanding of aerodynamics in a fun experiment.
