Great Stories come out of the Engineering Design EXPO, in addition to being the College of Engineering's signature event and the largest event of its kind in the Northwest; it is also a great place to find features about innovative new research and engineering.

This year's EXPO will feature over 30 projects from engineering and computer science students, including an orbital debris detector for NASA, an electrorefiner salt removal apparatus for the Idaho National Laboratory, and El Salvador water project for Engineers Without Borders, and a thumbprint ignition system for Biketronics of Moscow.

The Engineering EXPO event also draws Engineering Industry Leaders from around the State and the Nation to the University of Idaho.

The College of Engineering began last year in a partnership with the Micron Foundation to offer a significant engineering outreach component for K-12 students from around the region to attend EXPO and to compete in a Vandal Robotics Challenge.

For more information on any of these aspects of Engineering EXPO, please contact Leah Andrews at leah@uidaho.edu or (208) 885-7978.
