What kind of entries will I be judging?
Many exciting exhibits and posters along with an array of technical presentations are showcased at Engineering Design EXPO. These projects are the result of months, sometimes years of preparation by teams of students from all disciplines of engineering, computer science and around the University of Idaho. Projects are presented by either individuals or in teams. Many projects are for courses, especially Senior Design projects; some are graduate projects, extracurricular activities, professional society projects, or non-student (sponsor) exhibits. Only student entries will be judged and are eligible for awards.
What does it take to be a judge?
Your challenge as an EXPO Judge is to select the "best" exhibit, the best poster and the best technical session from the wide variety presented. The format and topics range widely. You are provided with a list of the presentations that you are being asked to judge, a score sheet and a space for comments.
By volunteering as an EXPO Judge, your primary job is to select recipients for awards. Ratings from all judges will be tabulated and the highest-ranking presentations in each category will be selected. Awards will be presented on Friday evening at the Awards Banquet.
What time do I need to be there?
EXPO Judges are asked to meet in the Appaloosa room of the Student Union Building at 8:15 a.m. This session will provide you with all the necessary information needed for your judging tasks, lunch tickets and additional EXPO information.
